The
Lund's
Landing Marina & Lodge area is rich in Lewis & Clark history.
While on a hunting trip in the rugged Butte area near
Lund's Landing Marina & Lodge, Captain Meriweather Lewis was shot in the
buttocks. This was the only gunshot injury of the Corps
of Discovery Expedition.
August 11th, 1806 "I instantly supposed that
Cruzatte had shot me in mistake for an elk as I was
dressed in brown leather and he cannot see very well."
