The monster of the North, "Northern Pike". Lurking in most bays are
giant Northerns that can range up to 25+ lbs and over 45 inches.
Hook into one of these creatures and prepare for a a battle that may
take up to 35 minutes.
The exception more than the rule, most
commonly, Northern Pike averaging in the 6 to 24 lb range (34"-45")
and in numbers so plentiful it is not uncommon to have caught and
released 25 or more by noon. But do keep some for shore lunch,
the cold waters produce a fierce nature in these Northerns that make
any lunch break a welcome treat.
