It all starts in early May, once the ice has melted on Lake
Sakakawea, Walleye is the word.
You can
catch trophy Walleye averaging in size from 3-8 lbs (23"-32") with
larger ones waiting to be discovered. As the water warms up in
the summer months, the walleye venture throughout the main lake and
can be found in plentiful bounty. If trophy walleye fishing is
your mark, Lake Sakakawea will deliver.
Tackle - Count down and rattlin rapellas, shad raps, jigs with
twister tails, lindy style rigs, spinner blades with fat head
minnows, ie....crawlers and leeches.
Best months:
May, June, July, August, September and October |
