Double
point duck boats, skiffs, or field hunting equipment that includes coffin
type blinds make for successful
waterfowl hunts in the prairie pot hole region, or if you like to
jump shoot all you need is a pair of chest waders and a good dog.
Diving as well as puddle ducks are exceptional from late September into
November. Snow geese are late arrivers whereas Canadian geese are
generally in the area throughout the season.
If
you are planning a trip into our area, plan on hunting duck/geese early in
the morning, then hunt some upland game, put your guns in our cabins and
go fall walleye fishing on Lake Sakakawea.
Lunds Landing Marina and Lodge provides waterfowl/upland game
and summer fishing packages that
suits individuals as well as small
groups.
Our
lodge is a family business and we provide genuine hospitality.![](images/2005/deerpheasants_small.jpg)
All of our
waterfowl hunting is done smack in the middle of Spring and Fall
migration. We hunt in the water and the fields.
The hunting season for fall upland game
(sharptail grouse, doves and partridge) starts in mid September; waterfowl
season begins in late September; pheasant season starts in early October. If you are interested in hunting
deer, the archery season runs from September - December. Bird
cleaning facilities are available.
